This was complemented by the call for an accessible digital learning environment through the European Commission\u2019s Strategy for Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Digital Education Action Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Accessibility with Apple.mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/574360650?h=b2084219c4&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Celebrating Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on the 19<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of May 2021, Apple held an interactive workshop providing an overview of Apple\u2019s accessibility features and their implementation in the classroom. This was complemented by the call for an accessible digital learning environment through the European Commission\u2019s Strategy for Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Digital Education Action Plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Introductions made by Elisa Molino, Accessibility Policy Lead for Europe at Apple, who highlighted the importance of the relationship between education and accessibility. Going further stating that \u201cthe powerful technology is the technology that empowers each and every one of us, Apple\u2019s perspective that accessibility is a human right.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session covered demonstrations of accessibility features that can support all learners, including learners with a disability.
