Il Pilastro europeo dei diritti sociali (EPSR) è un'iniziativa lanciata dalla Commissione europea con obiettivi molto ambiziosi: riportare la dimensione sociale dell'UE, riequilibrare le politiche economiche con considerazioni sociali, ricollegarsi ai cittadini europei,
e allo stesso tempo affrontare le questioni chiave legate ai cambiamenti nel mondo del lavoro e nella società più in generale, promuovendo standard sociali più elevati. L'EUD mira a garantire che tutti i principi, e in particolare il principio 17, siano realizzati per le persone sorde nell'UE.
