Europos Komisija paskelbė Europos socialinių teisių ramsčio įgyvendinimo veiksmų planą - kas jame numatyta ir kokie bus tolesni žingsniai?

European Commission building

On the 4th of March the European Commission presented the Action Plan for the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights. The European Pillar of Social Rights is the European policy instrument which aims at delivering new and more effective rights for citizens. It builds upon 20 key principles, structured around three categories: equal opportunities and access to the labour market, fair working conditions and social protection and inclusion.

Building upon 20 key principles the European Pillar of Social will not only ensure the European Union is more social, but it will also play a role ensuring that the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic will be socially fair and just. Shortly after the launch of the European Pillar of Social Rights in 2017, EUD has launched a toolkit in International Sign which explained in detail the importance of this instrument.

To support the implementation of the principles of the Pillar the European Commission’s Action Plan will aim at upgrading Europe’s social market economy to fit the opportunities and challenges of today and tomorrow and ensure just transitions for all. To discuss the Action Plan EUD organised a webinar where Social Policy Officer at the European Disability Forum, Haydn Hammersley presented it in detail. During the webinar we also present what should be the next steps on the national level taken by the NADs.
