Negotiations on the new Erasmus + Programme continue

Erasmus +

On the 16th of November EUD participated in the Erasmus Coalition meeting organised by the Lifelong Learning Platform and the European Youth Forum. Erasmus Coalition is a stakeholders’ coalition where youth and education sectors meet to discuss their advocacy related to EU level programmes. Recently, the focus on the Erasmus Coalition has been on the EU Multi Annual Financial Framework negotiations and the upcoming Erasmus + programme.

During the meeting EUD received an update that the EU total budget agreement was reached on the 10th of November, but the negotiations for the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 are still ongoing. Since 2018, in collaboration with the European Disability Forum EUD has actively advocated for an inclusive and accessible Erasmus + programme and will continue doing so, ensuring that deaf students have equal access to learning mobilities under Erasmus + programme. EUD will contact the Rapporteur of this file at the European Parliament that accessibility and inclusion must be at the core of the programme so everyone can equally benefit from it.
