BEREC Toegankelijkheid Workshop

The EUD have taken part in the BEREC Accessibility Workshop (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) on 4 March 2015. Our EUD Communication and Media Officer, David Hay, took the opportunity to present the EUD`s work especially on accessibility of information and communication as it is one of EUD’s core topics. 
This is also related to the UNCRPD, which all EU countries and the EU have signed (25 countries plus the EU have ratified). For example, Article 9- Accessibility – (b) Information, communications and other services, including electronic services and emergency services.

Also, there is the European Accessibility Act, including the proposed EU Web-accessibility directive, which EUD hope will be released as soon as possible during this year. That is vital for accessibility for all to be a reality including every sign language user.
