EUD Workshop in Vienna, Austria

Today, the 4th of October, all of the EUD Board members and staff arrive to Vienna, Austria to have EUD’s General Assembly. The delegates are being gathered to attend EUD’s workshop where the delegates will be briefed on EUD’s work leading to the GA on the 6th of October.

The briefings focused on 3 areas, firstly on the Erasmus+ project ‘DESIGNS’. The overall aim of the project is to create VET and CPD training resources and exchange best practices across Europe to facilitate greater participation of Deaf sign language users in employment. Executive Director, Mark Wheatley was leading the session regarding its progress over the past year.

The second topic was on Accessibility pertaining to the recently drafted Position Paper titled ‘Accessibility’ and was led by EUD’s Policy Assistant, Martyna Balčiūnaitė. The delegates were given the opportunity to make comments and allowed some room to make changes prior the approval by the GA.

The final topic introduced was the most important piece of information for the delegates to digest, it was the EUD’s policy briefing by EUD Policy Assistant, Martyna Balčiūnaitė. The briefing demonstrated the overall aim of the policy’s strategy and to assure the delegates that we’re on the right track to achieve the main goals of EUD’s vision.

The delegates were engaged in the discussions for all three topics and were well prepared for voting at the General Assembly upcoming this weekend.
