Mark Wheatley is reporting live from the 2012 Work Forum on the Implementation of the UNCRPD in the EU. The Forum is a platform of exchange for political stakeholders, DPO representatives, and legal experts, as well as members of the UNCRPD Committee. This year’s Forum focussed on the practical implementation of the Convention and in particular the empowerment of Disabled Peoples’ User-Led Organisations (DPULOs) and civil society. EUD as a Deaf-led umbrella organisation supports its members at national and regional level but also aims at achieving full implementation of the UNCRPD for Deaf sign language users at EU and UN level.
