EUD is pleased to see that the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.2021portugal.eu\/en\/programme\/priorities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">main priorities of the Portuguese Presidency<\/a>&nbsp;will beto&nbsp;<strong>promote Europe\u2019s recovery,<\/strong>&nbsp;to<strong>&nbsp;implement the EU Pillar of Social Rights&nbsp;<\/strong>and to <strong>strengthen Europe\u2019s strategic<\/strong> autonomy keeping it open to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Portugal President\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/515689715?h=da10e908f2&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Importantly for the deaf community during the Portuguese&nbsp;Presidency&nbsp;the&nbsp;new EU Disability&nbsp;Rights&nbsp;Strategy, the renewed Child Guarantee for Vulnerable Children and the EU Pillar of Social Rights Action Plan&nbsp;will be launched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Council Summit to discuss the new EU Disability Strategy is planned for June 2021, which&nbsp;will result in Council Conclusions on its implementation, and&nbsp;the&nbsp;High-Level Conference on the 19<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of April&nbsp;is planed&nbsp;to present and explore the content of the Strategy.&nbsp;The Portuguese Presidency\u2019s flagship event will be a Social Summit in Porto on the 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;and 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of May&nbsp;during which the implementation of&nbsp;&nbsp;the&nbsp;European Pillar of&nbsp;Social&nbsp;Rights will be discussed.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the beginning of 2021&nbsp;Portugal&nbsp;has started the Presidency&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Council of the European Union.
