Conferencia de la Plataforma Europea

Over 50 delegates from all around Europe attended the first conference organised by the European Platform of Deafness, Hard of Hearing, and Deafblindness on 15 November 2012 at the Representation of Bavaria in Brussels.

This conference focused on the lack of accessible and reliable data on the number of people with specific disabilities and the problems and issues that arise from this. One of the objectives of the conference was to highlight this to key stakeholders who are in a position to change this situation using existing tools.

Speakers included representatives from the European institutions, as well as the European NGO community. A panel discussed the need for high-quality statistical data and its link to the proposed European Accessibility Act.
