Nieuwe voorzitter van de International Disability Alliance (IDA)

Achievements

This week the President of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD), Colin Allen, was elected as chair of the International Disability Alliance (IDA), starting from 1 July 2016 and for a period of 2 years. IDA is a global umbrella organisation promoting the rights of one billion persons with disability all over the world. Colin is currently the Vice-Chair of IDA and will keep this position until the end of June. Colin will then become the second deaf person to hold the position of Chair of IDA, the first person being Dr Liisa Kauppinen back in 1999. We at EUD work in close cooperation with WFD and we are very happy for Colin and to see that a deaf person will hold such an important position.
